Just curious, my reset button seems to not be working. Half the time it takes me back to the menu, half the time I get the "turn off console before inserting a cart" message. I'm wondering if the cart is bad or if it's possibly the software? I know it's likely the cart, I'm just hoping it's something else so I don't have to send it back in for repair/replacement. It's not the unit, I had it modded about 6 mos ago and also a new cart slot was installed.
Any ideas would be appreceated.

This sounds like the normal behavior with the reset switch. If the menu does not appear after pressing reset on the cartridge, then tap reset on the console.
The Colecovision does not have a system reset input on the cartridge port, so it doesn't always work without pressing reset on the console as well. This is the same as the 128-in-1 cartridge behavior.
You should not need to ever turn the power on/off though, which is the point of the reset switch, since nearly every Colecovision fails because of wear in the on/off switch.

Oklie doklie! I was mostly worried there might be something amiss with the cart. Really it's not any kind of inconvenience, it just takes an extra 2 seconds but I was just wondering nonetheless.
