Hi,
I haven't use my Ultimage Cartridge for a while.
No when I insert it in my ColecoVision, I get the "Error no "CVSDOS.STO image" error message.
I checked the SD card, the file is present.
I overwrite the file with the backup version, it doesn't help.
I even performed a recovery procedure (that seemed to work since I get the blinking message at the end) it doens't help either :-(
After 10 tries of switch Off/On the ColecoVision or 10 tries of inserting/removing the cartridge it finally works.
When it works, if I just switch Off/On the device, without touching the cartrigde at all, it may fail again !

Just what I can see : When inserting the Zaxxon orignial cartrigge in the ColecoVision, it works 100% time.
I also thought there was an issue with Colecovision itself, but I just get another one with the same results.

When I'm looking at the cartridge pins, everything seems to be fine.

Any suggestion ?

Regards,

JihemB

It sounds like the SD card may not be making good contact with the slot. If the card contacts are clean, the contacts inside may be fouled.

There are SD slot cleaning kits, which you are welcome to try, but if the problem persists then the SD card connector may need to be replaced.

If you would like to arrange to send it in for replacement, please e-mail me at classics@atarimax.com. :-)

Thanks

Steve

Hi Steve,

Thanks for the suggestions.
I'll do the following tests when I'll can :
- 1) Format the SD card and rewrite its contents.
- 2) Try another SD card (the pins of the one provided with the cartridge seem to be fine however)
- 3) Try to clean the contacts inside the cartridge itself.

Strange :
- Even if I leave the cartridge inserted for a while, then just switch off/on may the bug to happen again (without touching the cartridge or the SD card itself).

- It seems the way I insert the cartridge in the ColecoVision (not fully inserted) sometimes helps to correct the startup (unless this is a 100% coincidence).
