I just flashed with the latest beta.

Is there any documentation on how to load a cassette file?

Can I load a 'cas' file directly from the flash card?

The OS supports the taperecorder, not a digital-file.
Sorry, misunderstanding?

To play a cas file, you need something like sio2usb.
That has a tape-simulator and does play back cas-file.

I made a sio2arduino myself, using microSD and added cas-support.
That also has an optional 8x multiplier to reach 4800 baud. ;-)

I don't know how viable this request is; but at some point in the future, if directly loading a cas file is not possible, how about a cas file converted to wav?

Those tools are already available on the internet.

exe to cas
cas to wav
wav to cas
etc.
etc.
:-)

But sio2usb playing a cas-file is the most convenient method at the moment.

Perhaps CAS-support can be included in the FAT-loader.
Same principle as ATR-support.
You could contact Steve about this.

Later,
Sijmen.
