What exactly IS the MyIDE-II? Does it replace the SIO2PC interface?
This is an interesting question. I'll try to find out again this winter
I ordered a MyIDE-II a long time ago and never really found a purpose for it, actually because of the sparse documentation, but maybe I just didn't find it.
Maybe it's an all-purpose device and everybody needs to find out themselves how to use it and I just didn't invest enough time in doing so.
Looking forward to long winter nights in 2021

Setting aside that you're responding to a question from 2014
That depends on what you're using the SIO2PC for. If you're just using it for disk images, the answer is "probably".
If you're using it with something like APE and you're also using it for printing, cassettes, and modem..... Then no.
It's better to think of it as an alternative to SIDE2 (with an * or two).
Depending on which BIOS you have flashed to it, you can have it working as a SpartaDos X cart, or even things like the OSS language carts... with storage. There are drivers to let you use it with the APT scheme, or having ATR's assigned to drive numbers.
In some ways, I like it better than SIDE2 for some things, in others, I prefer SIDE 2/3
On the plus side, it fits great in a 1200xl. It seems to work just as well with/without U1MB (in fact, you have to turn off the PBI in U1MB to use it).
