Especially the MyBIOS in Rom is very compatible. In fact: MyIDE ][, with MyBIOS in rom, is at this moment the device that runs the most titles.

Mr. Atari did a wonderful job on creating the MyBIOS, but you might want to upgrade to this OS as a ROM-replacement inside your atari (better is a multi-OS so you can also switch back to stock XL/XE). That increases compatibility incredible, and also your multi-sided disks will work.

Unfortunately there will always exist titles that would not run (even with the MyBIOS in ROM). But so far, I am very satisfied.

Honestly, I'm extremely confused regarding how to use MyBios. The documentation I've found hasn't been very helpful and seems directed to people who have some background with it.

Perhaps it's to easy :)

Just take a new CF-card.

Load MyBIOS.
You are at the bootscreen.
press/hold START+SELECT+OPTION.
You enter the myide-menu.
Do a init, save&exit. (You do not need partitions, only images, they are now set to be usable)
You are back at the bootscreen.
press/hold START.
voila, you are in the MyBIOS image-mode.

All slots are now empty, start copying now from a drive/sio2pc, or use the myide-manager (for PC) to copy ATR there.

Check the image-section in the manual.
Plus the addition keys, supported to swap disks and to write enable images.

Later
Sijmen.

Thans for the info.

You're right that the process appears to be easy, but unfortunately it doesn't work for me. My 800XL doesn't have a functional SIO port. Unless that's why I was hoping to use the FAT32 loader, since I can easily copy images to the CF card using my computer.

Unless I'm missing something, I don't believe there's a way for me to use MyBios as you described by using my computer to first copy images to the CF card.

After you have init the card with MyBIOS, you can go to your PC and copy ATR-files there.

You need to download the MyIDE-drive-manager from the forum.

There is a windows version with nice overlay and a command-line version.

Life is easy :)

Thanks. I thought you were referring the the tools available at http://www.jeffersonsauctioneering.com/atari/myide.php

I'll definitely give the one you linked to a try!

I got my card set up and copied a bunch of images. I'm not able to get any multi disk sets working though. Single disk sets work perfectly. Multi disk sets all hang at boot. For example, Gauntlet just hangs at a blue screen when selected. Conan shows the initial screen of blue text and then hangs at a blue screen.

Anything I could be doing wrong here? The images I have work fine in Atari800MacX.

Just your luck, Gauntlet en Conan use OSRAM, incompatible with MyBIOS-F2

I attached a working set (dallas quest) to test your set-up..
You need to add a empty dos2.5 atr in 3th position for saving games :)

That's hilarious! Too bad those are my favourite games :( Thankfully there's a conversion of Conan for the MaxFlash cart, so I'll just use that.

I'll give your files a try. Is there a list of games the are/aren't support by MyBios-F2?

Hi,

classics wrote:
Please see the MyBIOS documentation for instructions on setting up your card this way.

I just bought a MyIDE-II cart and the features look amazing, but so far I couldn't find any kind of more detailed documentation, so far the videos and the feature list are the only resources that explain some basic functions "officially", the rest seems to be scattered across this forum and the web, but it's difficult to search for something when you don't know what functionality you could search for ;).
So could someone please point me to the MyBIOS documentation that is mentioned above or any other kind of (slightly more) comprehensive manual on how to make the most of this nice little gem :)?

Thanks and keep up the great work,

F

Holding "Control" & "O" still loads the OS-B rom.
