I'm a complete newbie when it comes to this cart. I have a 130 XE with a 1050 drive equipped with Happy chip.

Image space is limited to a total of 16Mb, right? What advantages are there, apart from loading speed, instead of just using a sio2sd/pc solution. Is it more compatible?

Is there any written documentation of this anywhere?

Image space is not limited to 16mb.
It is used to store diskettes and load them from the list using START during bootup.

Advantage is that you do not need to load disks from 1050.
Easy to have all your disks on CF.
Compatibility is always an issue, most will run under the F2-BIOS.
If not, try a patched version from the internet.

Swapping disks can be done with SHIFT+CONTROL+number.
Manual is up to date about the image space.
