Post subject:  R16 Image Problems

I'm unable to get any R16 image files to load via MyIDE-II . I get either a "this is not an xex file" or "aborted: too many errors" message.

This includes the files that I think have been specifically converted for the MyIDE-II .

I have flashed the updated shipping workbook (by first running the latest FAT32 loader then flashing the collection bin image) and now have the FAT32 loader v20130102 , however the errors remain the same.

I have tested XEX files, a couple of ATRs and a couple of "normal" ROM images , so it just appears to be limited to files with an R16 extension.

Does anyone have any ideas?

You need the V20130110!

The V20130102 is an outdated version, which does not support the .R16 format yet.

You'll find that new version here on the forum too in the right thread.

You download that attachment in that message, and then put it in your workbook.

Should do the trick!

Thanks Marius.

I'd just presumed the new FAT32 loader was part of the shipping workbook. I'd even saved the latest version and I used that to be able to flash the cart in the first place... and then didn't realise I was using an older version again.

Have now tweaked the workbook and I'm using the latest FAT32 loader. Surprisingly, everything works now

Great to hear.

Imo the .R16 format is one of the greatest features of the MyIDE ][ interface. It is so great to play those titles on a stock 64K machine, loading them from a CF card in stead of having hundreds of ROM carts in your pocket.

Yes. Steve and Sijmen did a wonderful job on this gadget. I love it!
