ok, I have an XEGS and the MyIDE][ (and lost documentation, such as it was). Here are a couple of questions:

- How does Max Flash Studio work with it? I tried running it, but it says i need to hook up the programmer (I'm assuming cart). No USB on the cart.
- How do I load my cart images to the compactflash, Since the XEGS is XL/XE compatible?
- I see there is an update file for it. How do I get it to the cart?

You need the USB-programmer if you want to program from the PC.

No USB-programmer:
Export your work as BIN for MyIDE-][
Put that file on your CF-card.
Boot the Atari, load the FATloader.
Select this file you made.
Press CNTRL-F.

This will Load, check, erase and program the flash-content.

YOU MUST INCLUDE THE FATLOADER IN YOUR NEW CONTENT.
IF NOT, YOU WILL NEVER BE ABLE TO RE-PROGRAM......
! BE SURE YOU EXPORT FOR MYIDE-][ !

Success,
Sijmen.

Perhaps I read your post wrongly.

Rom images you can load with the fatloader.

If you want to customize your flashcontent,
you need the studio software I mentioned above.
Without the programmer, you can export the bin-file.
As I said above. But be careful what do.

I would suggest to upgrade to 4.9.B16 first.

- USB programmer is...? Is it the cart hooked up to the pc, which is not in MyIDE][?
- My XEGS does not have a keyboard. No Ctrl-F
- Again, how do I load the update into the MaxFlash Studio. It's REQUIRING the usb programmer.

Forgive the newbie stuff, I just want to make sure what I'm getting into. Most ROM carts you just load with roms.

The USB-programmer is another device.
Check the atarimax homepage, it's in the 1mb and 8mb flashcartridge section.
Oh, they are also on the MyIDE-][ page.
Price is 60 USD I see.

Looks like a cartridge but is not the same as MyIDE-][

No keyboard, no chance of re-programming the cartridge with the fatloader.
Sorry.

Also you do not need to upgrade to 4.9.B16 either.
It's a new BIOS, but also require the keyboard....

Grtz,
Sijmen.
