I have 2 xf551 drives and trying to transfer Atari format disk files to mydos partition of compact flash drive. Is the process the same as with the Atari max ide flash?

Also I have problem with Atari max II cartridge not going back to boot menu when I turn the computer off then back on. The green led is off. It goes to the Atari diagnostic screen. I have to wait until the cartridge will boot. Am I missing something when I turn on the computer?

Hi,

Yes, the copy process is the same. Just use your favorite copy-program and move them from Dx: (XF551) to Dy: (IDE-partition)

About the power-cycle, It looks like your computer has DRAM that keep their content longer then normal (most likely an XE).
You have to power down longer. Do you have the same boot-failure issue without the cartridge attached?

Grtz,
Sijmen.

I mentally count to 10 before I power back up and will now allow more time for the electronics to settle down. And I will try booting without the cartridge to note any difference. Thank you for the info.
