Hello,

Doing lot's of coding for the new MyIDE + 1Mb flash cartridge,
made me came up with this file.

I have basically packed a number of standard 8k roms into
the cartridge. Please note that demon-attack only runs on
a 800 based OS.

Just play with it and let me know if you like the setup.

Kind regards,
Sijmen (mr.Atari)

Just had a look at Demon Attack - the XL issue is
down to a direct jump into the OS that appears in 2 places:

$B72E & $B986 - original = $D1,$E7 i.e. jump to $E7D1

The equivalent jump in XL is to $C10F.
However, I don't think there's a common vector this
can be replaced with. Maybe the loader could be adjusted
to 'patch' the addresses if the appropriate OS is detected?

Here's an updated bin.

Regards,
Mark

Hi Mark,

Thanks for the file :-)

I know the problem with this cart. I didn't know were to patch it. THANKS!

Info:
E7D1 = NMI-entry point of the 400/800 revA-OS.
Imagic was very lucky it also runs on a RevB-OS, since Atari moved this entry point to E7AE......

In a XL-OS rev_2 or higher the address would be C0E2, but to be safe you should use the vector at $E45F. This makes a compatible cart for all Atari's!

Cheers,
Sijmen.

Hi,
I noticed that you are calling the files roms.

:D I like the setup and was wondering if the programing Language roms could all be added to a cart like this. Assembler Editor Basic xl Basic xe Action Mac/65 Atari Basic rev. C and so forth. I have tried but I must not be using the correct syntax on the Perl command line..

I used a trick to save these rom-images to the flasher-disk.

First I figured out on what sector each 8k bank starts,
then I used QMEG to bypass the inserted cartridge and saved this
area with the build-in editor to these sectors.

The menu is 'first' cartridge on bank #0, which I programmed myself.
It's very close how the first MyIDE-loader was build.

Now, OSS cartridges are not standard 8K, but 16k (or more) banked.
These can not be put in the cartrdige like I did.

Cheers,
Sijmen.
