When either my 1mbit or 8mbit finally boots on my 800 everything works fine.
The problem is that sometimes I have to power the 800 off and on 50 times before it boots.

I've tried the demo workbook, new workbooks with only 1 program, and I tried flashing from the Atari.

I used Steve's cartridge tester, and all tests pass, so I'm at a loss

Also, I've tried checking the option key bypass just in case.

All of my Atari cartridges boot fine.

I hope there's an answer for this, something I've overlooked--being that I'm a newbie at AtariMax and flash cartridges.

That is a good question.
Normally this should not happen.
Indication some kind of hardware issue with your 800.
It seems to me that your flash-cartridge boots from a random flash-page/bank, instead of intended first or last page/bank.

You can check this by flashing 15 times in a row the same 8k game-image into a 1mb cartridge.
The 800 then always boots, either the game, that is 15 times on it, or the maxflash menu.

Did you email Steve directly? Perhaps a good idea to do this too.

Grtz,
Sijmen.

Thanks for the reply. I added 15 of the same 8k game, but it still took about 30 tries, and then the menu came up and I was able to play it just fine.

I wish I knew how to execute the cart from a debugger, assuming it's sitting where it should be.

Anyway, thanks, and I'll email Steve
