I've tried to fix it. Please have a look at posting #1

My issues with both Action! and BASIC XL are resolved. Thanks!

I don't know how to use MAC/65 so I can't test it.

Fantastic work, cartridge_fan!

I found a new issue.

In the Action! monitor R "<filename>" does not work. Action! just hangs.

The R command is for 'Run and Go'. It's needed for utilities like BIGST.ACT from the Action! Toolbox or when your app is getting too big to both compile and run while the app also resides in the editing buffer.

Hi,

thank you for your help. I'm not sure but I' believe "biggest.act" by itself is the problem. (maybe it's the same with other toolbox tools / helpers / code snippets).

To bring all the carts to one cartridge I had to reorganize the bank structure. Action for instance lays on bank $13,$14 and $15 now (original on 0,9,1 or 0,3,4). "Bigst.act" wants to jump to bank $d503 ... a legal bank on a original action cart but not on this atarimax cartridge version.

I've checked it. 'R "BIGST.ACT" loads the code and starts the program. Then it jumps to bank 3 and ..... the atari / the emulator crashes.

Please could you change "bigst.act" and would you try it again ? Would be great if you tell me what happened.

thank you very much.

Ah!

I changed that address to $D514. Now BIGST.ACT is compiling and behaving properly.

Sorry, I never even thought to look at the source code. It's a utility I use for only one of my old programs.

I thought I had other issues but it could have been that I had corrupted the system after attempting the first example. Whatever I had done I can't duplicate it now.

Thanks.

I gave up on alot of stuff lately, but just came back... Am I to understand everything is fully functional on the image in post #1.
Is this fully transparent or do I need to modify anything to get stuff to compile and do we need to change the bank in the old software to make it jump and call the routines from the proper bank in the multi cart.

Since SpartaDos 447 is now out of the beta stage in seems to be more FEATURE rich and fixes several more bugs. I am wondering if you might think about updating this Cartridge image to include SDX447 instead of SDX446.

Regards,

Me too, and I was wondering a few other things:

1) Are the OSS carts heavily modded or only the banking? I mean: what if I would exchange one of these carts with a simple 8K rom that does not do bankswitch (like Assembler Editor)? Would that be simply possible, or do I have to make changes to that 8K rom then too?

2) Is it possible to alter the config.sys on the SDX version on this cart? I guess it is not possible to simply extract the SDX version of this 8Mbit cart and use the SDX-tool to modify the CAR: contents, and then put it back on the 8Mbit cart right?

Thanks for your efforts anyway, this cart is a very interesting project.

BUMP!

I would love to get some insight in this. I would love to see a cart like this with SDX and Assembler Editor as a cart on it.

I would also like to know how you did it.
Thanks
Marius

SpartaDOS X 4.48 is available today. Hoping cartridge_fan finds some time to update this project.

bump.

SDX 4.49c beta seems quite good.

p.s.
I wonder if there would be room for recently discovered OSS Integer BASIC XE (see link).
