Hi, you can "plug-in" one of 3 Oss Cartridges on start. Later is it reachable via "car" .. same as work with a original Oss Cart inserted into the addional cartridgeport on the original SDX carts: !!! If there is set a path for the state file (f.e. automatic via ramdisk driver) the hack will change the name. (the drive Letter remains) !! new Version !! -> I've removed the corrupted "autoexec.bat" (please see posting 3 & 4)!! after a long time .... here is the fix (i hope) to resolve some problems with BasXL, Mac & Action
Attachment: SDX446OssCartsMix_fixed.atr.zip (contains rom- and flash file) Attachment: atari001.png Attachment: atari002.png Attachment: atari003.png Where is a small problem on std. Ataris (64k) which comes from SDX themself and is a "part" of it since 4.42. Try it on SDX446 (normal maxflash Version or this modified version): - insert cart - wait for command line prompt - type in "basic" for basic or "car" to start the cartridge - "enter" - wait some seconds - press "reset" - type in "DOS" and press "Enter" - press "Enter" again to "return to enter DOS" and you'll see what I mean A workaround (?) -> If you set the environment variable "car" ( and/or "basic") to a valide value there are no problems. (see posting 4) Attachment: atari000.png

Thanks, As always your contributions to AtariMax cartridges is the best.. I have flashed my 8mb cartridge and all is working as expected. On real hardware with APE sio it just took a few minutes to modify my setup and all is working great now. SET CAR=D2:CAR.SAV SET BASIC=D2:BASIC.SAV UPDATE* I had to add SET PATH to my config.sys so SDX would read my local AUTOEXEC.BAT and not the one in CAR: Question: What is the POKE $C84 10 for or about, in the CAR:AUTOEXEC.BAT ??

thanks and ohhhhhhhh ....
it was an early experiement, not neccessary (and now a big error to ;-( )
I'll fix it later. Sorry.

P.S.: Please do not you SDXImageUser to do it by your self. It removes the possibility to choose the oss cart.

This is great, but that diagonal moving background is a little too much. Why does the 'nothing' line say "4 nothing", and not just 'nothing'
How come there is a blank scan-line across the list of options?

I tried this and it works pretty well, but I really need basic xe on the cart. can we have and alternate cart just like this but with XE and such on it... trying to see if old bbs will work with it.

How come there is a blank scan-line across the list of options? press zero 4 nothing means that when you press 0 you get nothing loaded in the car: device and get plain old dos. the line is a font style.... the moving background it to give it a polished look... I kinda need BasicXE on this instead of BasicXL does BasicXE pose a problem with 8 mbit cart address? I know my RTIME8 does not get along with 8 mbit for some reason

I recently received an 800XL to replace my ailing one.
I was looking forward to trying out your cartridge image in earnest when I discovered a big problem with the Action! image.
There's something wrong when compiling any part of a program from disk. With Action! there are two situations in which you would do this.
The first is when INCLUDEs are used.
The second situation is when one desires to compile a program from disk instead of directly from editor memory. When a program becomes too large this is necessary.
In both situations the compiler just abruptly stops, often without an error message.
By enabling the List feature, from the Monitor options ('O' command), I can see that the compiler terminates when it should be getting parts of the program from disk.
I hope this is a problem that's not too difficult to solve. I really love the idea of SDX + Action! on a single cart.

Hi SteveS
Same problems with MAC/65. It fails ASseMbling to disk or ENTERing source files.
It seems you and me are the only 2 guys who tried to really use this cartridge image...
Bye

I checked it out, still looking for a SDX/Action! solution. My Preliminary testing worked, I just didn't try to compile a program with the INCLUDE statement.

Hi, thank you for the reports and sorry about the malfunctions.
I'll try to fix it. But it could take a while. I'm very busy at the moment.
