All binary images in this forum were manually updated to contain the 08/15/2009 flashing software. If you have a new 8mbit flash cartridge and it is not recognized as present, make sure the build date at the top of the screen is at least 08/15/2009. Earlier images can be updated by selecting 'Update Existing ATR Programming Image' from the Tools menu of the Maxflash Studio application. |

I have searched the site and the forum for the new Maxflash Studio app. Is it somewhere else. I would like to update my collection instead of re-downloading. |

Sorry, I should have mentioned it would be a few days. In the next couple days I will be releasing a USB programming system for Maxflash cartridges, which will come with a complete Maxflash Studio application for building and maintaining cartridge workbooks. The software should be available for download mid-week or so at: http://www.atarimax.com/flashcart/ I've attached a few photos of the USB hardware and Maxflash Studio application. Steve |

Yes, using the same method. Double the image you get from the web configuration tool: copy /b image.bin+image.bin 8mbit_image.bin Then go to Cartridge->Program->Maxflash 8mbit Flash Cartridge Select the 8mbit raw bin image to program the cart attached to the USB programmer. You can then swap the chips out and re-flash the 8mbit cart with your original image. You can also save the currently programmed image before hand by using the Cartridge->Dump->Maxflash 8mbit Flash Cartridge option. Steve |

I haven't been paying attention because I have flash carts and have been very happy with the traditional method. You guys are so excited, I had to read the posts on this new studio. I was surprised to learn the studio was free. So, what are you paying for? Is this an alternative to the APE/SIO2PC interface? Can the studio be used with SIO2PC hardware? |

The USB interface supported by the software is available for sale. The software itself I am giving away free. I suppose I could have easily made the software work only with the USB interface and charged for it, but I really wanted it to be an upgrade for everyone who supported its development by purchasing flash cartridges in the past too. The studio software will happily export your workbook to an ATR for programming via SIO2PC, or even a BIN or CAR image for use in an emulator, there are no restrictions. Steve |
