I didn't know where to post my problem since there doesn't seem to be a forum for APE WARP+ 32-in-1 OS and some other AtariMax products. So, I'm posting here, sorry.

My problem isn't a biggy, but I'm not sure how may effect my system overall. When I hold SELECT at boot to get the OS menu screen, down near the bottom where it tells you what the current OS is, it says "communications error."
This problem started recently as I've been modding my 1200XL with AtariMax512 upgrade and some other things.
Everything else seems to work fine as far as I can tell so far, OS's load and work, just that error message on the OS menu screen.

I remember this issue being discussed before, but unfortunately do not remember if it ever got resolved. I seem to recall issues with Phi02 timing being discussed. Sorry for the non-help.

The Warp+ OS uses PIA PB7, which you may have lifted out of the socket if you installed a ram upgrade. This leaves the 'D' wire unconnected to the PIA.

In that case you will need to move the 'D' connection from its current location, directly to PIA pin 17.
