Hi, this is and old product and an old post.

i need help, I'm also trying to setup my home built Myide, external in the cartridge port on a 130XE, upgraded to 320KB.

when i turn on the computer, the IDE light of the CF-IDE adapter lights, the mybios menu only apear for a split second, and instantly boots to basic.

i tried peeking the addresses 54528-54535, and i get 255 0 2 3 4 5 6 80

when i reboot the atari and select PWR option, now enters the mybios menu stays. The options of IDE-PORT and IDE-DEVICE are highlighted, but i can't enter the menu with strt+select+option.

any thoughts on how should i direct my trouble shooting?

O man, long time ago.....

The PEEK values shows there is a IDE port with media attached.
-good-

What MyBIOS version are you running?
Disk (long all from floppy boot or short floppy/HDD-boot), Eprom ??

Some (small) pictures would help.
Need to know what entries are RED and GREEN.

Most likely, MyBIOS can not find the menu data.
That should be installed on your IDE-media.

Later.
Sijmen.

I will set-up an 130XE with external MyIDE next to me.
So I can follow your steps.

Yes, after installing a MyBIOS is ROM, you need to install the menu's using the SETUP-disk.
If you have more then one CF-card, you need to do this on all of them.

In the previous BIOS versions, called MyIDE Vx.x, the menu's are very simple but inside the ROM.

I agree, the mentioning of installing the menu on your media, when using MyBIOS versions, is a bit vague.

Grtz.

Success!!

Booted the computer with the setup disk, and worked ok.

Now I'm enjoying HDD functions in an Atari, awesome.

Great work, thanks!!! :D
