Hi guys,

I am a new owner of this cart and have a CF adapter (pin 20 has power) and a couple of 4G CF cards. One is a "Memory Concepts" and one is an "A*Data". They both work on the PC and in other devices, but in not in MAXFLASH. I can go into FDISK2 and detect the geometry, and create the partitions, exit, and save with no errors. However on reboot, there are no partitions created- if I go back into MAXFLASH it just shows 8 partitions that say "yD 00000".

I've also directly written a partition to the device with myidetool on the PC and it doesn't see that either.

Is it a problem with this large CF card, or something else? I tried in a 130xe and my 800XL. Same result in both.

Pete

Hi Pete,

This is a new issue to me.
I've tried CF upto 32Mb upto 1 Gb and that all works fine.

You can try and make a partition-table by hand on the PC, copy Mydos43.atr to
partition 1 and check this out on the Atari. You need a sector-editor, found easily
with google.

You haven't got SECAM atari's by any chance?

Later Sijmen.

Try this (as bootsector 0, first 32 bytes, the rest can be zerod).

Thanks- I found an old 128M Sandisk card here at work- we'll see if that works.

It turns out it wasn't getting enough power through the Atari, since the 128M didn't work either (or another CF adapter). After I fashioned external power to the converter, it worked as designed.

Also, it won't work on my 130xe, only my 800xl.

EDIT: No, it's erratic on both. Sometimes the blue MyIDE light doesn't even flash, and sometimes it does and blinks green with boot error. I must have a loose connection here somewhere.

Cleaning the cartridge-slot would help, or changing the atari-PSU.
