MyIDE Drive Manager is a relatively simple front-end, for Windows, to the excellent MyIDE Tool written by Matthias Reichl. I have also enhanced myidetool in a number of ways (source and binary included, see below).

I wrote MyIDE Drive Manager for myself so that I could manage my own MyIDE+flash. However, I thought that others may find it useful too.

Find it here: http://home.kindredintellect.com/atari/MyIDEDriveManager/

Happy to take suggestions / bug reports etc. :)

PLEASE BE EXTREMELY CAREFUL WHEN RUNING THIS TOOL,
YOU CAN EASILY TRASH YOUR HARDDRIVE IF YOU WRITE
DATA TO THE WRONG DISK DRIVE!

IF YOU ARE IN ANY DOUBT, DON'T WRITE TO THE DRIVE

Image

Everything should be fairly self-explanitory in the application.

Installation

The application requires the .NET Framework v3.5 which if you don't have you can get from Windows Update.

Other than that, simply unzip MyIDEDriveManager.zip into a directory and run MyIDEDriveManager.exe

Operation

MyIDE Drive Manager will automatically detect your MyIDE drive (right now it only supports a single drive).

This detection is currently very conservative, but please do double check the drive information that is displayed before writing anything to the drive for the first time.

Notes

Privileges

MyIDE Drive Manager, just like MyIDE Tool, requires elevated privileges in order to operate. As such you will be presented with a UAC prompt for elevation when you run it on Vista or above.

On XP you'll find that the application really doesn't work properly unless you run it as an administrator.

myidetool.exe

MyIDE Tool has been updated slightly by me in order to add a couple of operations (such as the ability to delete images from slots) and to report progress of long running operations.

This version also compensates for ATR images of varying sizes. So, 'k' files should work just fine.

The source is included in myidetool_source.zip within MyIDEDriveManager.zip

Releases

5th June 2011 - LBA, SDX, Drive images, XP Fixes etc. etc. v0.95

20th November 2010 - Initial Release v0.1

Happy IDEing!

Kieran

Nice work :-)

I'll check it out as soon as I can......
Can you change the post to sticky? (I can't anymore).

Later.

This looks great - exactly what I've been waiting for. Hias has produced a version of MyIDETool for the SDX LBA driver, too: any chance of supporting that one?

Sounds good. Right now the one modification to myidetool, included here, that would be somewhat odd with normal command-line usage is the progress reporting, which right now is in easily parsable format rather than pleasant to the console eye :)

The detailed progress should be put behind a command-line argument, I can do that once Hias releases his new version and I merge in my changes. Perhaps he has released already - where might I find it?

Thanks for the feedback.

Kieran
PS. It's not immediately obvious how I can make this post a sticky.. though I could just be daft.

It is when the application starts, it falls on the atari logo. :(

Ack! I wonder what could have changed..

It seems to run OK here. I'll do some digging.

Well, it appears to be failing extremely early in the initialization - specifically parsing the XAML for the main UI.

I've built a new version from the current sources (and added detailed error reporting for my code's init), find it here:

http://home.kindredintellect.com/atari/MyIDEDriveManager/Pre/

Perhaps someone seeing it fail could give it a whirl..

Thanks!
