While working on reset and SIO-issues on the 4.6-F beta, I found a way to (perhaps) come up
with a MyIDE-patch for 400/800 computers.

I was wondering if there are users out there who want to test and help?

I'm not sure yet to find time for coding, but new things always have my attention :-)

The setup consists of a 400 or 800 with 1mb+atarimax.
The patch would use bank-0 and some spare RAM (yet to find.....)
Banks 0,1,2,3 are reserved for MyIDE, basic, assembler, while bank 4-15 are for atarimax
users. Just like the 'normal' 3.5F BIOS would use.

Later,
Sijmen

I have a rough proof-of-principle working on the altirra-emulator. :-)
The cartridge can be de-selected or set as BASIC/ASSEMBLER.
Patched are some IRQ vectors to intercept IO that should go to IDE and keyboard-handler.
For now it uses bank-0 (All MyIDE-drivers), bank-2 (BASIC-C), bank-3(ASSEMBLER), bank4-15(ATARIMAX)

For now it only works on the OS/B ROM-pack, 16k minimum (Atari 400)

Hoop to get something up here soon.

If it helps, I've just ordered a MYIDE+Flash from Atarimax and own a 16k PAL Atari 400 as well as both a 48k PAL and a 48k NTSC Atari 800.

Once I've received the MyIDE, I'd be more than happy to test your changes for you.

Regards
Mark

Yeah, no problem.

I was working on the code yesterday (after 4 weeks of holidays) and picking it up is not easy :-(
The cartridge now can be switched off (to use 48k RAM) and still use IDE.
But the IRQ-patch to handle it all is buggy.....
Can't boot anymore from IDE, but when I boot from SIO and use IDE as D2: it works. -strange-
No image-mode (yet) and the Reset-routine needs work.

I used the 4.6 source files, but since they are XL/XE orientated, it needs a lot of cleaning up.
Ahwell, something to drag me through the autumn and winter :-)

Later,
Sijmen.

WOW, I hope you can get this up and running, I have an 800 (NTSC) with 288k and the Fast chip too. the fast chip helps out with apps and some games.

User-request: FAT32-loader for 400/800 on a 1mb+IDE atarimax.

Tested on altirra, works for me.
I also included the standard bootup-sequence, so you can choose how to boot.
Ram=48k (if present) or with Basic / Assembler.
Car will load the maxflashmenu. Here you find the FAT32-loaders.

The beta-MyIDE800 is far from finished. No time for it at the moment and too
tricky to patch the OS-irq vectors to use IDE when needed.......
I had a working version when selected Basic/Assembler, but with 48k it crashes :-(
Then did some re-coding and now nothing works. yeah! back to the drawingboard.
