Hi, Been away the weekend for mothersday 512Mb normally has 984 cylinders, 16H, 63S 256 cylinders are reserved for logic-partitions, so 728 cylinders for images. 16H, 63S = 1008 sectors/cylinder. In MD-mode (1040 sectors/image) you need 2 cylinders per image = 364 images. In SD-mode (720 sectors/image) you need 1 cylinder per image = 782 images. Later, Sijmen. |

The IDE connector I am using does not have a pin 20. Is that needed for power to a Transend 512meg CF card? I do have an external power connector, floppy type, that I could use, but I would really like to be able to power the CF card using the Atari and the Cartridge type (Build-it-youself) MyIDE. So is it a matter of just establishing the missing pin 20 and supplying it with 5 volts? Or would it be better to just connect 5volts from the cartridge to the external CF2IDE adapter power connector? I may also want to try using a physical 2.5" IDE drive with the cartridge and would not want a hot pin 20 to hurt the hard drive. |

I normally connect pin 20 to any 5 volt point on the PCB. For 2.5"/3.25" that does not matter, since they have no pin-20 on the connector itself. One issue with real drives, they draw a bit more current (about 500mA) dropping the voltage of the system. This will change the color of the screen a tiny when spinning-up. Later, Sijmen. |

Ah, yes you are correct. That is a bug I'm working on / have fixed. At image 256 ($0100) the calculation goes wrong..... Can you wait for the next update? Or do you want to beta-test Later, Sijmen. |
