Could someone possibly make up a listing of all the released and beta MyIDE's -- perhaps sorted by type of interface. And maybe with a short description of what its main features were/are. There are so many that I find it difficult to keep them all straight. I'd think that might be useful for quite a few users.

Hi Larry,

Basically there are 2 versions of IDE-addressing.
LBA and CHS.
currently CHS-addressing is the main-core of MyIDE.
There were some trails with LBA-addressing, but the code for
using 4 byte sectors is too complex.

Cartridge with 1mb flash+MyIDE:
3.5F is the latest stable version.
4.4F is the last beta version.

Better not use/refer to previous releases, since some have
unwanted bugs and not always 100% backwards compatible.

Internal interface with flash-BIOS:
4.3I is the latest version.
there is no released beta.

Plans are (if I have time) to upgrade the current versions with
SD-support and to remove the 3 partition-limit on 4.3I/E.
My goal is to do this before the end of 2009 ;-)
This will be the 4.4-version for all MyIDE-interfaces.

Cheers,
Sijmen.

Thanks for the list.
Too bad that LBA mode code is too difficult to fit in. It would decrease the space wasted because images have to start at a new cylinder with the current CHS "firmware".

I was thinking that a bank-switched OS rom could be used to increase the space you have for the MyIDE code or even switch in some static ram if you require more ram. But that of course requires additional hardware modification which is not feasible for the external MyIDE.

Are there any "wanted" bugs then :P
