Post subject: | Question About How the 128-in-1 USB Flash Cart Works |
Hello. I'm new to the 5200 and multi carts so please excuse my ignorance. I would like to know if this USB cart comes with the games already in the cartridge. The reason I ask is because I own a Mac computer and won't be able to use the software. Thanks. |

The cartridge does come blank. You would need temporary access to a Windows PC to load up your rom images. After loading you dont need the PC unless you want to change the games. Thanks Steve |

Thanks, classics. Any word on when a Mac version might be available? |

I'm going to produce a command line tool that will be open source, based on libusb, which is available for OSX. When is another matter, all I can say is I hope to have time for it soon. I will not be writing a full blown GUI application for either Linux or OSX, but such an interface could be built around the command line tool or its code if anyone had enough interest. Steve |

I'm also MAC all the way. My G5 is 3 now so it's PPC (not Intel) and I'm going to try Virtual PC 7 - it does have full USB support and I have Win XP Pro on it. I also have a couple of PC's (collecting dust in the closet) I could hook up but I believe VPC would work. I'm ordering mine this weekend and will let you know the outcome. I hope it works as I feel so vile and dirty hooking up a PC |
