One of my favourite games is Pooyan, by Datasoft. It was a disk-based game, is it possible to convert this to a format for the Flash Cartridge??

Yes I just tried Pooyan as a multi-cart and a disk cart, both work fine.
The file version of Pooyan is only 18k so you could fit it even on the 1Mb cart with a bunch of other games.
Here is a link to the file version:
http://www.retrocomputing-world.com/rom ... Pooyan.exe
There are some more links to exe games in chapter 9 of the docs if you want to put more on a cartridge.

I posted a test multi-cart in the images forum that has Pooyan in it.

Would SPELUNKER be do-able?
IIRC, it loads large levels from disk.

I dont see a file version of Spelunker but you can make the disk version into a cartridge using the -diskpacker option.
I posted the image in the image forum. If it doesnt work for you LMK

Thanks for doing that--and so quickly!
Unfortunately, it doesn't work. It erases, programs and verifies just fine, but when the resulting cart is booted, it just goes to Memo Pad
(This was tested on a stock 800 with the wonderful APE!)
Thanks for the effort, anyway.

Carts made with the -diskpacker option require a 64k computer to run. Do you have a XL/XE model to try it on?

Hi there.
I also tried the whole process on an 800XL, and the splash screen comes up and the music plays, but the computer locks up when START or the joystick button is pressed.

Wierd it works for me... it does seem to lock but its actually loading and goes to the game play screen in a few seconds.
The last music note stays on so it seems locked. In normal disk access the music would stop because the disk i/o receive routines mess with the audio channels.

D'oh! Sorry, classics, you were right, of course. It does work fine. I was thrown off by the disk routines that *don't* kill the music and the fact that it takes a few seconds for the level to load up.
Once again, you've introduced yet another brilliant new technology to our favorite paleolithic platform!
THANK YOU.

Is it possible to have a single multicart image with both castle wolfenstein and also beyond castle wolfenstein? Has anyone tried this yet, or created images for either game by itself?

The 1Mbit cart will only hold one at a time, but they both work.
Saving and restoring games would still require a real disk drive, but the game itself can be played normally.

I'll post Maxflash images in the images forum for you and I'll attach the original .atr's here. They were pretty big about 100kb each so only one game per image. The first game needed the -osb translator option.
Where did you find the time to play all these different games? I guess I stuck to the mainstream ones too much because I haven't heard of half of the games you mention I did play Heracles for a little bit and whooped some boars!
