When using the MyIDE Drive Manager it shows the partitions I have on my CF Drive.
It has Start and Ending numbers. What are those? For example one drive is 65535 sectors but the start and ending numbers are only 66 apart (3840, 3906)

On the drive itself, is image space laid out first then partition space?

Hi Frank,

The number of cylinders are shown.
66 cylinders equal 66528 sectors (maximum).
(Size in cylinders is always rounded up)

Images are stored after logic drives.
Example if you have cylinder 1-512 dedicated to logic drives, then cylinder 512 until end_of_drive are for images.

MyIDE-MENU devides the CF in maximum 5 areas in this order:
LBA 0-256          :Reserved space
LBA 256-x          :FAT32
LBA x-y            :APT
LBA y-z            :Logic drives
LBA z-end_of_drive :Images

Were y=Cylinders/512 rounded down
Were z=y+1 (minimum)
Were x-y and y-z are equal size

I'll check the manual and revise parts if I feel parts are unclear.
It's in the technical section.

Cheers,
Sijmen.
